Original Title:
Η έννοια του Απείρου στον Spinoza και η συσχέτισή της με το Άπειρο των Cantor και Gödel
Translated title:
The notion of Infinity in Spinoza's "Ethics". The effect of his work in Cantor' s & Gödel's work
Summary:
The great philosopher Spinoza (1632 - 1677) presented his own view on
Infinity in Letter 12 and in his work Ethics. Cantor (1845 – 1918), the
founder of Set Theory and manager of Mathematical Infinity had studied
intensively Spinoza’s work and had been inspired by the former, two
hundred years later. In this work I discuss the effect of the notion of Spinoza's infinity on Cantor' s ideas on Infinite Sets. Finally, I discuss the effect of these ideas on the enunciation of Gödel's Theorems and proofs and the role of "proposition G"
