Summary:
In this research we study whether children's acquaintance through music with the culture, customs, culture of other peoples can work decisively in a child's consciousness to dispel fears, misconceptions that have been cultivated for people of different races, of different color and different religion.
Harmonious coexistence, respect for children of different backgrounds is nowadays one of the main issues that we often come to face especially in school classrooms.
The question of education and how a child will receive it from an early age is crucial to how the issue of diversity itself will be perceived in all its manifestations as and when it grows.
For the observation of children's musical behavior we relied on McDonald & Simons' "Scale for Evaluating Music Behavior in School Children" (1989: 182-183), which was adapted to our particular educational goals.
So the directory that was created included behaviors related to:
• children's attitude towards music
• their abilities in singing
• their skills in music movement
• their ability to play the instruments
• their musical perception
• their creative abilities, as manifested in musical activities
• their ability to symbolize musical concepts
