Summary:
The scope of this research is to study the perception of elementary school teachers about the issue of school failure and those factors that influence students school performance. In this context, the aim is to outline the level of association between factors and school performance. Particular emphasis is given to the role played by the subjects of teaching and to the relationships between them. Through study and analysis of the role of the teacher, the process of assessment is approached, a process that is closely linked to school performance. The way of assessment, the criteria set and the verification of the process are key parameters of the matter that is under research.



A qualitative approach was selected to conduct the research, which was implemented by organizing and creating two focus groups with a total population of eleven individuals. Data were processed and analyzed using the content analysis method. The analysis of the data revealed a complex system of factors related to the individual and social characteristics of each person. A characteristic finding is the correlation of the factors with each other and the interaction. The student's family profile, the role of the teacher and the student's own will to succeed are the most important elements in their career.
