Summary:
The purpose of this doctoral thesis is to investigate the perceptions of the people in the school community - principals and teachers of primary school units with reference to crisis management in the school’s workplace, scrutinizing comparatively the situation by using anonymous questionnaire especially adjusted to the initiative of this study and answered by 734 principals and educators in a nationwide level during the school year 2016 - 2017, and specially from March to June 2017.

This study tries to focus on the ways and means of treatments and repressions of the dangers and crisis which may occur in school units of the greek primary education system aiming to the effective prevention and treatment of these phenomena and creating a safe school environment, totally harmonized with the European school standards.

Due to the given answers, we draw useful conclusions regarding the specific parameters of this study and especially: the emotional situation of the school members, their possible education about school crisis’s management, their possible cooperation with parents, their communication with the media, in order to understand the reaction of the school members in an era of a rapid increase of violent outbreaks and an infringing behavior on behalf of students that may lead to injuries, phycological blackmails, threats or bullying.

The citation of the current and applicable legislation as well as the decisions of the courts will strongly support to draw useful conclusions and a constructive dialogue in the future.
