The causes and the consequences of climate change on the environment and on human health. Coping strategies
Summary:
The purpose of this study is to inform and sensitize citizens about the threat of our times, climate change, and to engage them in adopting coping strategies. Initially, the causes of climate change will be mentioned, then its impact on all sectors will be explained, with a particular emphasis on health, and eventually adaptation and mitigation strategies will be presented to avoid its effects.
According to scientific studies, both anthropogenic and natural factors are the causes of rising temperature and climate change. In particular, the various anthropogenic activities that were primarily aimed at economic progress, as well as the inhumane interference of humans with the natural environment, contributed to the increase of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, causing global warming. The painful consequence of these effects has been climate change, which causes extreme weather events, such as storms and hurricanes that lead to catastrophic floods, and heatwaves causing droughts and fires. As a result, extreme weather events affect chemical reactions and favor the transport of African dust and various pollutants, thereby increasing their concentrations in air, water and soil. Climate change has had a devastating effect on the natural environment and human health as credible studies have shown that respiratory problems, infectious diseases and other serious diseases have increased, as well as the mortality of people and especially vulnerable groups.
From what has been referred, it is clear that there is an urgent need for governments of all counties and scientists of all backgrounds to work together peacefully, as the issue of tackling climate change is complex and requires a universal and interdisciplinary approach. It is certainly worth noting that the role of parents and teachers is important in educating responsible and conscientious citizens, with creative thinking capable of dealing with serious problems surrounding them, such as the scourge of climate change.
