Summary:
The purpose of this thesis is to highlight Inquiry Dramatization as an alternative method of teaching History in the elementary school.The method to be followed is the bibliography review,in order to clarify the terms of "Inquiry Dramatization" and "Theatre in Education",as well as the necessity of teaching History to Primary School children.Specifically,the Theatre in Education is to be analyzed,summarizing some selected elements concerning its theoretical backgrounds,both at the level of theatre theory and the level of pedagogical science,in order to study its evolution from thw early 20th century to thw present with emphasis on the concept of Inquiry dramatization as a cross-disciplinary teaching method.In addition,thw subject of History ,the necessity of its teaching and the various ideological and doctrinal approaches to the Curricula at a international and greek level will be studied.
