Human Resources Management in a School Unit, Role of the Director
Summary:
The purpose of this review is to explore issues related to the management of
human resources in a school unit and to highlight the role of principal. Human
resources are the most important and valuable element of an organization so
management has become the focus of administration. A search of relevant Greek and
international literature has identified the key role that the principal plays in
transforming schools into a learning organization, where all their members, from
students to teachers and principals, are committed to learning.
The subsystems of the school are interdependent and thus it is necessary to coexist
harmoniously in order for the optimal educational process. Human resources in an
educational unit unite and support its subsystems. Therefore, they play a critical role
in the strategic planning of the unit while working together with the effective
leadership of the manager.
