Summary:
This diploma thesis is about the creation of the “socialpedagogy.gr” blog, which was designed as a socio-pedagogical online community of practice for teachers across Greece, with no regard for their teaching specialization, level or working context. The presentation of the blog is preceded by the theoretical segment of the assignment, which includes the use cases of Social Computing, and more specifically, those of social networks and the operation of online communities of practice. Next, the design and implementation of “socialpedagogy.gr” is analyzed, which focuses on the need for training and support for teachers working in Greece regarding socio-pedagogical issues, as well as the effort put into its spread, rating, and development. In this context, a presentation regarding the survey conducted in the first two months of socialpedagogy.gr's operation follows, during which opinions of teachers were recorded, to evaluate the blog’s features and its ability to meet the needs of a socio-pedagogical community of practice. The assignment is concluded with the survey’s results and with specific suggestions for the future of “socialpedagogy.gr”.
