Summary:
This paper presents findings in the speech of Greek-speaking children belonging to the autism spectrum (ASD or ASD). Specifically, the comprehension and production of the personal pronouns a 'singular "I" and b' singular person "you" were examined. The experiment included a single test for comprehension and production, using photographs of each child and the examiner. Fifteen high functional children with ASD and 15 children of normal development participated as a control group. The results showed no difference in the ability to understand and produce specific pronouns between children with ASD and normal children. This demonstrates that the speech of high functional autistic children is less autistic than what was expected from children with ASD.
