This essay seeks to clarify the way in which Greek folk and traditional song can be taught in High School and Lyceum

Initially, it refers to the ceremonial performances of farming communities in Greece (folk customs and traditions in the festive cycle of time). Also, continues with the concept of Greek folk dancing and singing model to emerge as a proposal for a teaching method of Greek folk traditional song. Finally, it is evaluated by the students and clarified with statistical data: tables and graphs.

The process is carried out by creating a workshop for teaching traditional song into the school context, with folklore and historical elements, with supervisory - audiovisual material and through the method of folk dancing and singing model (vocal and dance teaching of traditional folk song).

This will help students understand more the process of teaching song through the kinesiology of Greek traditional dance,
which they will evaluate by answering the questionnaire related to the method.
The aim of the method is students can a) recall the unity through the popular events, which take place in the farming communities b) (transferring this image into the school context) understand more the meaning of the traditional song c) through the creativity and teamwork of the process to perform it and d) evaluate the process by answering a relevant questionnaire.

The aim of this project is to provide as important as possible - if not complete - a solution to the problem of teaching folk song in schools through the very events of the farming communities, which are transferred to the school context in the form of a music-kinetic teaching process. traditional song: the Greek folk dancing and singing model
