Summary:
This study aims to investigate the point of view of kindergarten teachers regarding their counseling role in refugee children and the promotion of their resilience. Specifically, through semi-structured interviews, we attempted to probe teachers' knowledge about refugee children in means of the refugee crisis, its impact on them and their education in the Greek educational system. Furthermore, we wanted to examine their knowledge of mental resilience, as well as their perceptions of the need to promote it in the classroom. Last but not least, we aspired to highlight their thoughts related to the need for counseling to refugee children. The results of the research indicated that teachers are willing to have a counseling role in refugee children, promoting their resilience, however, it is necessary to have further education and training.
