Screening in preeclampsia and treatments
Summary:
Preeclampsia is a clinical syndrome observed in 5% of pregnancies and is associated with an increased maternal and fetal morbidity and mortality. Characterized by hypertension, proteinuria and sometimes by impaired function of several variable clinical severity organs. The abnormal placentation, accompanied by increased resistance of the vascular system activation of the clotting mechanism and dysfunction of endothelial cells is a key pathogenesis of preeclampsia mechanism. . It has long-term consequences for the mother to the risk of cardiovascular disease. Similarly, for the baby at risk of perinatal death and cerebral palsy, primarily as a result of the correlation intrauterine growth retardation, and preterm labor. It is also believed that babies who survive to adulthood are at increased risk of cardiovascular disease. The treatment is substantially in the termination of the delivery, and all recent studies have led to the protective effect exerted by the prompt initiation of prophylactic treatment with low dose aspirin in i pregnant women at high risk of developing preeclampsia. The use of markers for the early detection of risk for developing preeclampsia pregnant can provide important help to prevent complications and / or to better address this impact. There currently reliable biological and ultrasonographic markers which combinedly provide preeclampsia with high sensitivity. These studies, however, continue to find indicators simple, easily measurable, without need for specialized personnel, which can further be useful in early detection and treatment of preeclampsia. The early as possible discovery of evidence, which are interwoven with the pathogenetic mechanisms of the disease, is considered to be the key to early prevention and kat` extend the effective treatment of the disease. The combination of the determination of a high risk group with an illustrative or prevention laboratory method seems to be the target of research efforts.
