Summary:
The aim of the current dissertation was to study ODD (Oppositional Defiant Disorder) and possible transitions and correlations, in order to emphasize the role of early diagnosis and intervention from preschool age and to identify the better methods, strategies, methods and Intervention Programs for management and treatment of ODD from educators. Initially, the diagnostical criteria, the prevalence and comorbidities of ODD are analysed. Then, reference is made to possible causes and effects of ODD that have been identified in children with ODD and parents of children with ODD, based on research. The purpose of the above is to maintain a better understanding of the special needs and particularities of children with ODD, on the basis of which the aims and directions of Intervention Programms for ODD will be set, as will be presented in the continuation of the present study. Finally, Intervention Programs and Management Strategies which have been proven to be appropriate for ODD, with an emphasis on preschool Intervention Programs, as well as their effectiveness, based on the bibliographic review of selected surveys are presented.
