Summary:
ABSTRACT
This paper has been prepared with the aim of highlighting how the history lesson can be taught through literary texts and it is related to the historical novels of Loty Petrovits Andrutsopulou.
It is necessary to clarify briefly the fundamental concepts of Literature and History for work. In particular, certain aspects of her teaching history in primary education are presented in accordance with the current Curriculums. Meanwhile, the value of Literature in education, its teaching methods in school are highlighted and the types of literary works, aimed at children's and adolescent readerships, are presented at the same time.
The relationship between the subjects of History and Literature is then analysed, which is also the subject of my work. This also led to the emergence and analysis of the definition of Interdisciplinaryity. Afterwards, the genres of literature are presented with historical evidence, which also prove the close relationship mentioned above. There is a brief flashback of the course of the historical novel in both european and Greek space, reaching up to the present day. Additional reference is made to the children's historical novel but also in particular to the children's historical novels of Petrovits-Andrutsopulou and suggestions are offered for the use of the historical novel in the classroom.
The above reports highlight the innumerable benefits of the use of historical novels on students. At the same time, the role of the teacher in the teaching of the historical novel is highlighted, which is quite demanding and requires very good programming.
In the practical part of the work, our theory is concreted on the basis of the autobiographical historical novel by Loty Petrovits-Andrutsopulou the time of Chocolate. The selection of this book by the polygraph Petrovits was based on the historical period and the autobiographical elements that exist. Initially, it was considered necessary to refer to the author's CV as well as to the autobiographical elements found in her work. Then there is the presentation of the characters of the novel The Time of Chocolate and the heroes are outlined through the space and time framework of action. At the same time, reference is made to the role of the plausibility of the scene and the influence of socio-historical conditions on the evolution of the characters is highlighted.
The work is completed by drawing conclusions and by listing activities -proposals for teachers of all classes.
