Summary:
The present dissertation examines the relationship between the central government and the Public Television and attempts to record the tight embrace of the central government system of the respective government with ERT.
The investigation is divided into three different time periods, during which different parties had taken over the governance of the country. Specifically, the first period concerns 2010 and 2011, the second in 2012 and 2013, and the third concerns the period 2017 and 2018.
The research carried out by recording and sampling the main news bulletin from the archive of the Public Television is carried out in two axes: A) in the time of projection of government and opposition issues where the differences in the distribution of time are recorded and compared. all parliamentary parties in relation to their electoral power, as recorded in the recent elections of each term, B) in the series of government and opposition issues, given to issues that concerned everything in the parliamentary parties.
The dissertation presents the political environment of each period, the events that occupied the news every day and the airtime given to the government and the opposition respectively. The interviews of the information executives, such as News Managers and General Managers of Information in the respective time periods under consideration are also listed.
Also, in the context of the diploma, a questionnaire was sent which was answered by two hundred people about the role of Public Television, as it is perceived by its viewers and their position regarding the final product on their screens in the three different periods examined by the research.
The plurality reports of the National Broadcasting Council for each examined period of time are also presented, on the basis of which the data concerning the data concerning the time of projection in the government and the opposition but also in all parliamentary parties.
