Summary:
Nowadays, school bullying and violence is a phenomenon that assumes great proportions. It usually takes place inside within classroom, but it would not be strange to occurourside of it. It has been observed that students with special educational needs are more and more likely to become victims of this phenomenon. The inclusion of children with needs, aside from the positives it has provided the pupils themselves, considering the learning process, the formu- lation and implementation of higher educational goals, and their social acceptance and de- velopment, as is reasonable, has brought problems to both of them, as well as the wider school community. Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder not seen by many, which surprisingly seems to be perceived due to the different characteristics, compared to the general population, that these children present during their development. The purpose of the present study is to investigate these characteristics that make a student with ADHD a victim or perpetrator of a bullying incident, and the rationale behind the incidence of such incidents has been studied in particular. These characteristics are usually low school performance, loneliness, overactivity, strong impulse, and difficulty managing and rejecting malicious comments. The family, school and peer groups appear to be contributing factors in the development of school bullying, and the fact is that the sooner the recognition of the phenomenon occurs, the sooner the situation will change. In addition, ways to intervene in school bullying through the family and school context are analyzed. To sum up, it is worth noting that all of this is irrelevant if the students themselves with ADHD do not accept their difference, otherwise they are unable to permanently curb the bullying phenomenon. They feed on it and are sometimes responsible for its evolution.
