"Cognitive and affective diversity in the news framing of populations on the move. The case of the 'refugee crisis'"
Summary:
This study examines cognitive and affective news diversity drawing from framing theory. The “refugee crisis” in Greece is used as a case study. The empirical research explores a) news framing diversity effects on attitudes towards refugees/immigrants, b) the effects of political convergence in policies of refugee deterrence and containment on news framing diversity (since the EU –Turkey Statement of March 2016 and up to the reports about the dire conditions at the Moria refugee camp).
