Work stress in new forms of employment.
Summary:
Crucial to labor law is the area of workers' health and safety, which imposes on the employer the obligation to ensure a safe working environment, which will reduce the likelihood of any adverse effect on workers' health. However, in addition to physical health, the growing need to protect the mental health of workers is beginning to emerge, which is exacerbated by work stress in the context of new forms of employment and work organization. The key question is whether work stress, in the way it manifests and its consequences, should be the subject of specific compensatory legislation, because in the face of the doctrine of flexicurity, the worker and his mental health have been sidelined. The structure of the work is as follows: Following this introductory section, an attempt is made to conceptualize the work stress, its causes, its consequences, as well as the existing regulations in national and Community law for the protection of workers' health. Then the new forms of employment are mentioned, crowdworking, teleworking, nomadic work and zero-hour contracts, how they are related to the emergence of work stress and what measures can be taken. The last section presents various suggestions for dealing with the phenomenon of work stress.
