Summary:
The following work aims to examine the parameters of development and use of digital games, which are played with mobile devices and negotiate sustainability issues, following a narrative-based process, integrated into the normal flow of the school curriculum, with sixth graders (K-12), who participate in the design of games. In particular, in order to achieve the problem-solving procedures understanding, which concern the public space and its sustainable management, expected to enhance the possibility of action, it uses the design of digital games, incorporating the students' opinion about the design patterns of digital games. For this reason, it was involved in recording the design patterns of digital learning games that pupils like, used these patterns to create games based on the concept of the functional pattern and took into account the design suggestions of pupils. In addition, he used the narrative as a design basis, creating a story, which was developed based on Prop's narrative model and which was created collaboratively by the group of pupils. The evaluation of the final result made by another group of pupils of the same class, found that both the process and the content of the games, can be a satisfactory starting point for sustainable action, in a system that concerns the public space.
