Requirements and Procedure for international protection: Status and prospects in force

The purpose of this thesis is to examine the European and Greek legal reality regarding the management of refugee/migrant flows and integration into Greek society and the legal framework for the right of asylum seekers, the determination of refugee status, the reasons for the exclusion or end of international protection and the main asylum procedure of integration into international protection status. With the adoption of Law 4636/2019 and its implementation from 01.01.2020, an important incision is being made in the legislative framework governing the provision of international protection. Greece, in the context of an increase in mixed migration flows, has incorporated into its territory the European Directives, aiming to speed up the process of examining asylum requests, in order to make it easier for people who do not need international protection and who do not have the right to remain in the country to return, always in the light of the country's international obligations and guarantees.
