The research aims at creating fertile ground for the development of 21st century competences by offering two conditional activities using two different Teaching Conditions. It uses digital tools and theatrical play in order to provide students with different "schemes" for the development of "complex competences" by mobilizing convergent and divergent thinking. It explores the usefulness of theatrical play and the digital tools Popplet and ChoiCo for the development of 21st century competences: critical thinking, creativity, and collaborative teamwork.
