The purpose of this work is to study how hospitals handle hazardous situations and crises. The study of the existing legislative framework and the basic Emergency Operational Plans with distinct names such as: «FILOKTITIS», «PERSEAS», «SOSTRATOS», «ARTEMIS», «XENOKRATIS» were remarkable.
It is worth noting that in emergency situations the proper operation of a Hospital is very important. Although many hospitals implement action plans in line with relevant standards from the relevant departments of the Ministry of Health, implementing such plans requires proper training and training of human resources when the Hospital is functioning smoothly. At the same time, key elements are ensuring financial resources for the implementation of the plans and assisting all stakeholders in risk management, minimizing their consequences and quickly returning the Hospital to its normal operation.
Thus, a systematic review is made by utilizing bibliographic references, articles and related researches through search in databases on the internet, in order to make a record of the data, to evaluate and to highlight the importance of the preparedness exercises and the training on the medical one. staff at regular intervals.
The results do highlight a number of shortcomings in Australia, China and developing countries, and comparatively the US and Europe at a more satisfactory level with the need for regular exercise.
Finally, a management scenario of a catastrophic crisis in the hospital area and a management plan of the specific crisis are presented.
