Summary:
The rapid development of New Τechnologies has a positive impact on the educational process. Their use in Education makes learning more attractive and enhances students' motivation, which leads to an increase in their efficiency. The book is considered one of the most important tools available to the teacher, a tool that thanks to its evolution provides the teacher of today with a variety of possibilities through new and innovative applications, including the creation and use of hybrid albums.
The present research contains action research elements and takes place in a class of third grade Elementary School students, with the ultimate goal of creating a hybrid album with the use of crowdfunding activities in the subject of History. The main purpose of the study is to enhance the critical thinking and motivation of students regarding the subject of History, along with their socialization through the process of creating the hybrid album. This thesis first presents the historical background, the characteristics as well as the use in the educational process of both the interactive book in general and the hybrid album in specific. A detailed account on the design and implementation of the educational intervention and of the hybrid album produced follows. The thesis concludes with the presentation of the results and the evaluation of whole project.
The research results show that the motivation of the students was enhanced, their better acquaintance with the technological means and the strengthening of their critical thinking and communication through the activities of the crowds. The students successfully responded to the activities assigned to them. These activities were based on crowdsourcing techniques and adapted to the students' abilities, in order to create their own hybrid album, based on the History of DG Elementary School through the Microsoft Sway application.
