The International Ecumenical Hyperpoliteia in the philosophical thought of Konstantinos Tsatsos.
Summary:
SUMMARY
The political unity of the world in an International Ecumenical Hyperpoliteia (Hyper-civility, Superstate) is Konstantinos Tsatsos' idea for the course of all nations and all states towards an ultimately pursued purpose, the ultimate purpose of history as he defines it. This purpose includes all values of civilization, both theoretical and practical: science, arts, religion, moral and social order as well as all the spiritual and material achievements of man in general.
The purpose of human history is one; the highest purpose. Therefore, the social order that determines how human societies will proceed towards this goal, must ultimately culminate in a single system of rules of justice. The International Ecumenical Hyperpoliteia, defined as a mandate (what absolutely must be done ) and as an absolute necessity of the free personality, has the world political order and peace as a prerequisite but also as a derivative.

The idea of the Hyperpoliteia opposes modern trends but it is neither a utopian nor an unattainable vision. The world is the result of the methexis of both matter and ideas that can lead towards this goal through the inspiration of the Mythos that each people have and every nation has. Hence, every nation can be shaped into a State of values and culture, by the education and cultivation of values, thus contributing to the promotion of whole humanity to the International Hyperpoliteia.

Tsatsos defines the education, which impacted the common tradition of each nation, as the force that could direct each nation towards this supreme goal. The Greek nation particularly, with its long-standing tradition, bears the duty to act as the lever for achieving this goal. This can be achieved once it turns into the specific education of spiritual excellence which takes place through the cultivation of humanistic values.

Tsatsos contests that Greece could be strengthened through the cultivation of humanist values. He proposed the creation of special schools of spiritual excellence, where the humanistic values will be taught. In this way, the source of humanistic values will later be irrigated to the whole world with the same spiritual substances.
