Summary:
The present thesis, aims to provide information on the basic characteristics of infants and toddlers, from their physical to their psychological features in the key areas of development. At the same time, the importance of developmental evaluation is analyzed and consequently some detective tools for the evaluation of developmental characteristics that have been used and are used both abroad and in Greece are presented, assessing the risk of developing developmental disorders in infants. In addition, the importance of pre-school education as a compensatory education is emphasized, also in the introductory part of this thesis. The research part presents the provision of three improvised questionnaires for the evaluation of a child's developmental characteristics, as a case study, while these tools are examined for their usability and flexibility about the early detection of its developmental characteristics. The results that follow from the analysis of their content, as well as their descriptive evaluation, draw conclusions about whether they could be used in wider research, in order for the findings to be used to determine the needs of the Greek population of infants and toddlers aged 0- 4 years old. Finally, the bibliography on which the work was based is listed.
