Empirical investigation of the impact of digital applications on the effectiveness of attracting and selecting employees
Summary:
In the context of the 4th technological revolution, the internet and new technologies in general have led to the digitization of a series of activities and functions, thus influencing the ever-changing business environment. Business actions and practices could not remain unaffected by technological developments, while business management is being redefined structurally and structurally.
The topic explored in this dissertation is "investigating the impact of modern digital applications on the effectiveness of recruitment and selecting processes". The research aims to determine whether companies that use digital media and applications in the recruitment and selection processes finally notice an increase in the efficiency of the recruitment and selection processes compared to traditional methods.
The modern trends of gradual digitization of the processes of recruitment and selecting that include the use of social media as well as digital applications e.g. led to the present qualitative research. The theoretical overview of the phenomenon, in the first part, is an attempt to understand the terminology in this field according to bibliographic sources. The new human resource selection practices are then studied, approaching the digital recruitment and selection as well as the role of Social Media in the recruitment of candidates. An interesting field of study is the effects of gamification applications on recruitment and selecting, while finally discussing the benefits and risks of modern digital applications.
The empirical part explores whether the aforementioned use of digital media and applications contributes to the production of more constructive results of the recruitment and selection processes. 10 structured interviews are conducted with experienced market executives who specialize exclusively in the field of recruitment.
Commenting on the findings of the interviews conducted, it appears that the use of Social
Media and Gamification Applications can improve the results of the processes of recruitment and selecting quantitatively and qualitatively. That is, that more candidates are now clearly attracted and that, even marginally, more conclusions are drawn about the inclinations and skills of the candidates who will contribute to the selection decision. However, ethical and ethical issues arise that need to be addressed with caution, while the role of traditional methods in r and especially in selecting remains important.
