Summary:
This thesis is structured in two chapters. The first includes the
recording of the biography of the composer, which begins with the quotation
information concerning family background and childhood and
goes on to study abroad (Dresden and Berlin) ends up in
his artistic course, which essentially took place - for the most part
percentage - after his return to Greece. Among others are considered: the double

The second chapter includes the systematic analysis of its parts
of the project Eight Greek Island Dances, from which the export results
conclusions about personal synthetic style and synthetics

harmonious course and the various morphological structures found as a whole in
this project. This is followed by a subsection, which includes
presentation of the influences that the composer received from his stream
Impressionism, with dominant influences from composers Claude Debussy and
Maurice Ravel, and by composer Béla Bartók. Then the
points of their effects on his analyzed work. In the last subchapter,
the parallelization process, which concerns the integration process, is presented
of the traditional element in the field of western art modern Greek music.
This is achieved by comparing the information obtained from the bibliographic research and in combination with the short quotation
excerpts from the work of Emilios Riadis, as a representative of the National School.
