Crisis managment and interdisciplinary training of health scientists for cultural satisfaction in disaster care
Summary:
Introduction-Background: Natural and man-made disasters are of great concern to public health, as they are associated with adverse physical and mental effects on individuals and communities. A comprehensive approach to disaster preparedness, response and recovery activities and, more generally, to emergencies requires that populations not be overlooked because of their different cultural and linguistic characteristics. However, systematic training in cultural skills is still missing from the medical and nursing curriculum, especially in the field of emergencies.
PURPOSE: The investigation of crisis management and interdisciplinary education of health scientists in order to achieve cultural adequacy in the care of victims.
METHODOLOGY: For the writing of this paper, research was conducted on the online platforms ResearchGate, PubMed and Google Scholar from January 2021 until October 2021 to find articles related to the topic. The search was based on the keywords "Crisis management", "Health professionals", "Interdisciplinary education", "Cultural adequacy" Disasters "," Crisis "in English, individually or in combination, with a time limit from 2010 to today.
RESULTS: Research has shown that health professionals, although at the forefront of disaster care, are not fully trained and competent in emergency management, especially in matters of mass disaster and cultural competence in caring for the affected.
CONCLUSIONS: Since health professionals are involved in disaster planning, mitigation, response and remediation, they should actively seek opportunities to participate in real disaster events, virtual exercises and further training opportunities, especially disaster preparedness and cultural adequacy for the care of the victims.
Aim: The purpose of this study is to evaluate.
