The role of the Director/Manager in the promotion of the educational and social work of the school unit - Views and trends of the educational community
Summary:
The current Director of a school unit in Greece deals with issues concerning the organization, coordination, management, reform and upgrade of the unit itself. Apart of all these parameters and experiencing a hard reality in which the whole of humanity is faced with a pandemic, during which the reliability of the entire social and humanitarian system is at stake, where we are lead to the need for financial independence in a school unit, it is considered imperative that the school be upgraded and safeguard all these values which it should be represent and promote. Therefore, in order to achieve the maximum possible degree of this ideal role, but by adopting a new model of operation and administration of a modern school, we are led to suggest the creation of a new role, namely that of the “Director/Manager”, virtually the guardian of all these changes. But, is the current educational system ready for this change?
