Psychopedagogie view in the Anthropology of the Ecclesiastes
Summary:
The present Thesis has as its objective the ‘recomposition’ and delving into the content in the Book of Ecclesiastes under the scope of the Psycho-pedagogic Science. Human action and behaviour was investigated within the realm of biblical theology, so as to render the exposure, amplitude and depth of the holy passage attainable with eschatological aims. Additionally, in the present study, the interpreters selected from the field of ecclesiastic tradition were those who, in our opinion, more actively unearthed the psycho-pedagogical spirit and the ‘hidden’ depth in the book of Ecclesiastes.
From careful study of the book it is documented that the Ecclesiastes theologises on humanitarian, ethical, social and metaphysical issues, based on empirical human data as well as on his personal experiences. He uses the essence of his theoretical and practical approach for the valuation and evaluation of human life according to the law of God.
The Ecclesiastes demonstrates a composed view of the worth of human existence in its entirety. He develops learning processes on actual issues of human life, having as his primary aim the moral shaping of man, through virtue and through work by God, a process that ultimately renders itself as his one and only need.
The teacher Qoheleth, being receptive to various stimuli, is involved in unusual activities searching through human life for the presence of God -Yahweh. He highlights factors that facilitate learning according to God, which is demonstrated in his everyday deeds. The discovery of the basic pedagogic principles and their correlation demonstrate the timeless value of the book, reinforce the special nature of its teaching and constitute a reason for living, by accomplishing immediate understanding and absorption of their pedagogical function by the schooled man. By changing the traditional way of communication/quest between God and man it aims to achieve the religious literacy of God’s chosen people.
The great contribution of the Ecclesiastes lies in the fact that he prepares the human race for the acceptance of the time before Grace, for the vindication or the rejection, the reward or the deprivation of joy in eternity, by preparing the human race for the coming of Christ the Messiah. Facing the impasse that is death he stands waiting, turning his hope for a final resolution to his Creator. Through his final ascertainments he transcends the nihilism and pessimism that possess him and presents a realistic outlook on life, leaning on the true faith toward the One True God.
