Human Resource Management Practices at National and International level

This research project is intended to highlight the HR practice at national and
international level applied in the current situation and identify the changes that have
occurred in Human Resources Management, philosophy, roles, functions and
differences in application of this science both in Greece and abroad. The method
followed in each chapter is predefined and contains the classical theory of any
practice of Human Resource Management based on extensive research and rich
bibliographic reference held. It also contains case studies of companies at national and
international level for better understanding of the theory and in the end contains two
surveys for each practice that based on responses from Greek and foreign companies
to find those best practices. The first survey is an initiative of the British Cranfield
University in collaboration with the Economic University of Athens, which is based
to the CRANET system (from Cranfield Network) to highlight the practices of
H.R.M. in Greece and Europe, to make a comparison between different countries and
to sight the trends on the role of H.R.M. in the future. The second survey was based
on the method HR Metrics held in Alba Graduate Business School with the support of
Eurobank. Finally, in conclusions are presented the findings of the research work both
on the results of Greece, and the results abroad.
