Summary:
In this particular diplomatic assignment the perceptions of undergraduates and postgraduates of educating department of primary education of the National Kapodistrian University of Athens, are being investigated, about the bullying, under the prism of the Social Pedagogy.
Given the fact that the incessantly increasing negative social phenomenon of the bullying, it is exceptionally interesting to investigate if the undergraduates have comprehended the fundamental values and origins of the Social Pedagogy, so as to achieve a spherical social pedagogical opinion as far as bullying is concerned.
The investigation focuses on the social pedagogical perception of the undergraduates about the school on that phenomenon.
Before the research, a lot of literature study took place about the social pedagogical dimension of the bullying. Many surveys were studied and a lot literature issues were investigated so as to the crucial role of the Social Pedagogy in prevention and confrontation of the bullying.
In the research, participated 424 undergraduates and the quantitive and qualitative data were analyzed with Descriptive Statistics, Inductive Analysis and Content Analysis. For the research part of the study, a questionary with close-ended and open-ended questions was used.
The results showed that most of the students have strong social pedagogical perception about the bullying witch believe is a very important problem. Therefore they point out the need of social pedagogical programs and actions for the prevention and confrontation of this phenomenon, with simultaneous education from school about this problem and cooperative participation of all the involved at school, in the family and local community. In addition to this, it was observed that the undergraduates show a stronger social pedagogical perception than the postgraduates, about the utilization of the relationship between school and family, for an effective confrontation of the problem.
Last but not least, the results showed the difference of the points of view between the undergraduates who attend the lesson of the Social Pedagogy and those who don’t attend this lesson, while the women show a bigger social pedagogical perception in comparison with the men both for bullying generally and the bully specifically.
