Axiology of lifelong learning in general and sports education

The object of the present study is to investigate the way in which Lifelong Learning and Lifelong Sports are valued today in Greece (Gongaki, 2021a, 2021b). Through the literature review, the evaluation of ancient Greek thought on these issues is highlighted. Afterwards, the modern pedagogical conditions and theories of learning are presented (Kokkos, 2005). The corresponding European policy is pointed out, in order to make a comparative view of the implementation of Lifelong Learning in Greece (Prokou, 2009; Babalis, 2014). As far as the bodies for Lifelong Learning and Lifelong Sports in our country and their competence, it is examined whether these actions are independent of predetermined goals and age limits, so that they can satisfy the need of aftovulia and oikeiopragia of the adult (Gongaki, 2013, 2021a). The study is based on the philosophical method, and especially on evaluation. The latter, as a branch of philosophy, is the special tool for deepening in the concept of "value" (Karafillis, 2005) and for correlating the issue with the value system of society (Friedrich, 2005; Thomas & Nelson, 2003; Gongaki 2021b).
