Pathophysiology and pathogenetic mechanisms "Pannus" in rheumatoid arthritis
Summary:
Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune subcondition of arthritis, which has an evolutionary course, attacking the joints, but not rarely other organs of the body, being the most common inflammatory rheumatic disease. The disease affects people between the ages of 35 and 55, but it can also occur in other age groups, even in children. Rheumatoid arthritis during its progression can lead to the appearance of pannus, which is an aggressive structure that can appear in the inflamed rheumatoid joint, which invades the cartilage and bone, causing an irreversible damage to the joints.

This work is a bibliographic review of the pathophysiology and pathogenic mechanisms of "pannus" in rheumatoid arthritis. In more detail, the paper focuses on rheumatoid arthritis, the epidemiological data of the disease, the clinical picture presented by the patient, the method of diagnosis, the prognostic factors, and the effects it brings. Next, the pannus is examined, describing the patient's clinical picture and his diagnosis. The paper then focuses on the histopathology and etiology of rheumatoid arthritis and pannus, as well as their therapeutic approaches.

The work demonstrated that rheumatoid arthritis is a disease that presents significant heterogeneity, which reveals the necessity of conducting future research, which will consider several factors associated with the disease, in order to provide clearer information to the scientific community about it. It is also recommended that more specific research be carried out on pannus as well, as there is a significant research gap. Research is needed to focus on interventions and preventive measures to prevent the occurrence of the disease.
