Summary:
The need to find new, exploitable raw materials and resources has always been a top priority for many profitable but also high-profile investment projects.
This need is nowadays translated into requirements for multifunctional raw materials, which comply with new technological and environmental standards.
We should not neglect these investment chances in our country, as they are an integral part of its economic development and it will also bring a lot to the local factor, while always pursuing sustainable development goals.
This undergraduate thesis was aimed to research a new investment opportunity in the world of industrial applications. This is the mining and exploitation of a calcite-diatomite deposit in the Mytilene basin in Samos Island, Greece.
For the purpose of the research, a field study was carried out on the island with the necessary geological study and visualization of the field of interest, collection of a variety of samples and their chemical analysis in a laboratory, while conducting an extensive commercial and financial study for the purpose of a potential investment.
The result is a well-thought-out business plan that reflects the expectations of a sustainable investment that will bring growth not only to the investor but also to the local factor itself.
