Music Map: Εφαρμογή Android για εντοπισμό μουσικής σε χάρτη
Summary:
This work aims at integrating the data emerging from music identification applications into a map. The function of the app that was developed depends on its users and on the Shazam application, as it enables them to share the metadata of a music track and their location in order to create markers on the map with the metadata of the track.
When there is enough data, a user will be able to get a estimation from the application regarding the type of music popular in each area by looking at the map, which contains data submitted from other users. Each track appears as a marker on the map which shows information such as the title, the artist and the genre when tapped, thus allowing the user to see which tracks played in a place. In addition, the user has the option to apply certain important filters, such as filtering by genre. This is one of the most important features of the application, as through its correct usage the user could see which places have an increased density of music that they like and discover new destinations with the music they prefer.
Finally, the user has the ability to only save a track on their personal map, in case they don’t want to share the music on the global map which includes data shared from everyone. Despite this, the global map is anonymous as the uploaders’ data is not visible.
