Summary:
The present study aims to explore the effectiveness of Video-Modelling as an intervention strategy for improving emotional skills in a student with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Specifically, Video-Modelling technique is based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis and Bandura's Social Learning Theory (1977). This particular method was chosen to develop and cultivate basic emotions, such as fear and anger, with the goal of recognizing and expressing them in the student's daily life. Participant is an 11-year-old learner with Autism Spectrum Disorder, who attending a special primary school in Attica. In Addition, an experimental reversal design (A-B-A'-B') was used to evaluate the effectiveness of the intervention. In conclusion, the results indicate that this technique, with the method of animation, can be a useful tool for children with autism to recognize and process their emotions in everyday situations they experience.
