Summary:
The primary goal of this thesis is to support and to enhance the educational and teaching process in the context of the courses “Introduction to Computer Science” of the 2nd grade and “Computer Science of the 3rd grade of High School during the academic year of 2023-24 at Varvakeio Model High School. The students were supported in the laboratory both in technical matters and in matters of solving questions related to the course. The interventions focused on the support of the courses, with particular attention being paid on teaching, answering questions related to the course as well as to support the students during their work at the Computer Science Lab. Furthermore, the student’s assignments and exam papers were graded during the 1st and 2nd semesters of the academic year regarding the course "Introduction to Computer science" and discussions with students were held in order to address misconceptions and errors so that they were resolved in the most efficient way. Lastly, interventions were designed and implemented in the 2nd High School year for the teaching of encryption algorithms, where the teaching approach of “Investigation” was utilized.
The thesis offered important experience in numerous subjects of the field of Computer Science Teaching, such as the support of the educational process, grading exams, teaching and handling of a high school class.
