Summary:
Mathematical creativity constitutes a significant research area that opens new perspectives in understanding mathematical education and the learning process. This study attempts to investigate the level of mathematical creativity of ten high school students based on the indicators of fluency, flexibility, and originality. Through a qualitative research approach, the ways, methods, and strategies used by the students in solving two open-ended mathematical problems are analyzed, and the emergence of elements of creativity is explored. Furthermore, the existence of a relationship between mathematical creativity and students' performance in mathematics is examined. The analysis of the results indicates : a) the presence of elements of mathematical creativity in students' responses, b) the association between the level of mathematical creativity and performance, and c) the suitability of open-ended problems for investigating mathematical creativity.
