Summary:
As the use of e-books represents one of the most modern teaching methods, this thesis aims to present both the prevailing perceptions of preschools children educators regarding these pedagogical tools and their opinion on the best techniques for integrating e-books into the educational program of preschool children.
Within the framework of this thesis, research was conducted using an electronic online questionnaire, targeting preschool and kindergarten educators across Greece. The questionnaire included both open-ended and closed-ended questions, thus combining qualitative and quantitative research methods. However, the final analysis of the results was conducted quantitatively.
The research results showed that despite preschools children educators' positive attitude towards e-books and recognition of their benefits, their daily use is not widespread. However, during the pandemic, their use was undoubtedly much more frequent. Obstacles such as lack of technological infrastructure, content, and prolonged exposure of young children to screens affect their utilization. Educators' proposals in order to increase the frequency of e-books usage focus on technical support for Greek schools and the further education of the educators themselves.
