This collection includes documents that were produced by all the different administration services of the University and, in addition, incoming and outgoing Rector Secretariat documents with a register number.
Notes:
Note #1: When the University was founded in 1837, and gradually developed, the need of processing the assignments of the administration services efficiently and fast was created. To serve this need the University created the Register service. The Register Archive, covering the time period from 1837 until 1954, was kept in the central building of the University (30 Panepistimiou st.). In 1991 the Register Archive was transferred to the Historical Archive building (45 Skoufa st.), were the material was classified and arranged. The Unbound Register Documents Archive, which covers the time period from 1954 until 1980 is kept in the repository of the central building of the University of Athens (30 Panapistimiou st.) and is not available for research.
