Summary:
In this thesis we focus on aspects of the affect in the learning process, such as student's feelings, attitudes, moods, motivations, expectations and beliefs. Various researches have shown the contribution and functionality of these non-cognitive factors to the development of students in both secondary and higher education where the recognition and categorization those aspects have generated great interest in the research community. In the present study, we will explore the aspects of the affect appearing in mathematics textbooks by exploring the possibilities and limitations of using software and means for mechanical identification and categorization in such a process.
