Summary:
The coach is a team’s leader. On this paper are presented the types of a leader and how they are chosen from the coaches based on their gender. (Actual Behavior, Multidimensional Model of Leadership of Chelladurai). Male coaches adopt a more autocratic coaching style. They are strict during the practice process, but are supportive at the same time. Female coaches use a more democratic coaching style. They focus on primarily creating good and capable people and then athletes. Moreover, on this paper are analysed the preferences of the athletes based on their gender. (Preferred Behavior, Multidimensional Model of Leadership of Chelladurai). Males want to be strictly coached and they prefer an environment in which they will improve and become better. Females are more interested in a full-time participation as players and co- coaches through the decision- making process. For the women athletes it is important to create strong bond between the teammates in order to cover any sentimental need that might come up. The data above, can be used for the better understanding of the athletes’ preferences and therefore to the better staffing of the academies in order to fulfill these preferences. The main goal is the utilization of more talented kids and to try to keep the kids interested to continue participating in sports. In the meantime, the research aims on creating a sports culture and a life- long habit for exercise
