Περίληψη:
Champion track and football Negro male athletes were tested for G-G-PD deficiency and sickle cell trait to evaluate the hypothesis that these traits may ad-versely affect athletic performance. A marked negative as-sociation was found ¦with G-6-PD deficiency, suggesting that this trait may not be compatible with the attainment of superior athletic status. © 1974 The American College of Sports Medicine.
