Περίληψη:
Primary Sjogren's syndrome (pSS) is a common, chronic, autoimmune disease, which is characterized by progressive, destruction of the exocrine glands in association with a variety of systemic manifestations.(1) Although in most patients the disease runs a slow and usually benign clinical course, pSS can be sometimes complicated by life-threatening conditions, which require rapid diagnosis and aggressive treatment(2). In this article we present such a case of pSS with a relentlessly progressive course terminating in acute renal insufficiency due to hemolytic uremic syndrome.
