The paper deals with the state of play concerning Greek Youth's unemployment and social vulnerability, including comparative insights related to the European context. It analyses some of the key findings of the recent EEA-funded large-scale project titled “NEETs2” (EEA Grants/ GR07-3757). The paper presents the key quantitative findings related to the impact of the Crisis to Greek NEETs’ (young people Not in Education, Employment or Training) and Young People's (in total) life course and employability, while it provides evidence-based insights on youth's priorities and survival strategies. It focuses on the role of the educational capital and family background to the youth's employment status and life chances, while it highlights the intergenerational transmission of poverty among youth in today's Greece. © 2019 Elsevier Ltd
