Περίληψη:
We investigate the effect of differential rotation on the axisymmetric
modes of relativistic stars. A Newtonian uniformly rotating white dwarf
is assumed to be the progenitor of a neutron star. Based on the
distribution of angular momentum inside the star, we construct
differential rotation laws for the corresponding neutron stars which
arise from the collapse of the white dwarfs and we use them as models of
newly born neutron stars to compute the frequencies of several
axisymmetric modes. The mode-extraction is done via 2D nonlinear
hydrodynamical evolutions in the Cowling approximation.
